At Margaret K. Lewis School, every student has gifts worth celebrating — and Charita’s Legacy is a shining example. Formerly known as the Soaring Souls Company, this student-run boutique empowers learners to design, craft, and sell unique handmade items that promote pride, purpose, and creativity.
The company was originally founded by beloved teacher Charita Collier, whose passion for student independence and meaningful work shaped its mission. Her vision was simple: give students real-world opportunities to create, contribute, and SOAR. Even after Mrs. Collier passed away at the beginning of the 2024–2025 school year, her legacy continues to inspire us daily.
Today, Teacher Liz Waldron leads the boutique with heart and dedication. Under her guidance, students practice communication, teamwork, fine-motor skills, and problem-solving as they design beautiful jewelry, keychains, and seasonal gifts — each one created by hand, with joy and purpose.
Every purchase made from Charita’s Legacy: A Soaring Souls Boutique helps sustain the program and celebrates the incredible abilities of our students. More than a shop, it is a tribute to a teacher who believed deeply in their potential — and to the students who continue to prove her right.
Every product tells a story. Every creation honors a legacy.
